If the Van is the public face of Dans la rue, Chez Pops is its beating heart. Chez Pops is open weekdays and more than 120 street kids visit daily. During peak periods that number can climb as high as 200.

They come for many reasons. For some it is a hot healthy meal at the cafeteria and for others it is to pick up warm clothes or basic items at our depot. But for many others a visit to the day center isn't motivated by everyday needs: kids in crisis visit to speak to one of our highly-trained intervention staff. Some come for drug counselling or to resolve emotional issues. Some come just to be in a warm, happy, friendly place for a few hours

The day center is also the home of many programs and clinical services. Many kids come to take high-school classes, participate in work training or to see a healthcare professional.
