Who do we serve?

Dans la rue reaches out and offers unconditional support and assistance to youths who find themselves isolated or in a difficult situation. We do not judge anyone. Ever!

  • The Bunker Emergency Shelter serves youths aged 12 to 21
  • Chez Pops Day Centre serves youths aged 12 to 25
  • The Van serves youths aged 12 to 25

Those who come to us may have problems with substance abuse, be involved in prostitution or find themselves in trouble with the law. Or maybe they are simply in a financial bind or have physical or psychological problems to contend with.

Sometimes we are called upon to intervene during family crises that can lead to a runaway scenario. Suicide, unfortunately, is far too common in these situations. We therefore offer a number of services designed to deal with these issues, via our team of front-line workers and our on-staff psychologists.

We also work with individuals in special situations, such as young parents, through our Family Services Program. We provide job integration and coaching under the MISE socio-economic integration program. And the Emmett Johns School helps youths who have not completed their high-school diploma to earn the high-school credits they are missing.

We are there to help. Contact us.

According to the Montreal Police Department, there are 4,500 runaway situations reported on average every year in Montreal since 2002.
