Dear Volunteers,

This organization was built on the dreams of Father Emmet Johns, but it was also built on the backs on thousands of volunteers since its inception in 1988.

From all the kids you've helped, from Pops and the entire staff of Dans la rue, from everybody who cares about our kids... Thank You.

Thank you for your efforts, warmth, kindness and openness. Thank you for giving us your time!

Volunteer Profile

Sandra Murphy, our Art Room volunteer has been with us since 1997. Each week she arrives with a different treat for the kids and each holiday is highlighted with a special project. For example, in December she makes candles with the kids which they can use as gifts. Sandra works hard with the kids and staff to prepare the Day Centre for Christmas, Halloween and other holidays. She also helps organize "Journées de Culture" every year. Sandra's dedication helps improve the quality of life for our kids every day.

It is estimated that there are between 10,000 and 15,000 homeless people in Montreal.
