Computer Workshop:
The computer room makes it possible for youths to
familiarize themselves with today's technology. Those looking for work can use
the computer to prepare their resumé or conduct on-line job searches. We have
also integrated the use of computers into our school's
curriculum.
Art/Music Rooms:
These workshops are designed to foster socialization and interpersonal communication. They provide participants with an opportunity to spend their free time in a constructive manner, and to open up their mind to creativity while using their talent. Every year, these rooms welcome thousands of visitors - a figure that speaks volumes about the popularity of this service.
The art workshops are often used by youths with serious psychological problems. Many of our kids deal with suffering on a day-to-day basis and find it extremely difficult to cope with and talk about their experiences. The art room can help them channel, express, develop and resolve their emotions. Staffed by a team of professional art therapists, the art room exudes a feeling of well-being and belonging. It is a peaceful oasis where kids are free to communicate their feelings, experiment with techniques and receive stimulating feedback. In this unique setting, they can let their creative juices flow, get to know themselves better, take artistic risks and find themselves through their art. The art room is often the backdrop for the first steps on the long, yet rewarding, journey of self-discovery.
